About Epic Multimedia

Epic Multimedia began in Melbourne as a design and technology company in 1984 with the original Managing Director, Glen Jobson, at the helm. For its first few years Glen wrote bespoke software applications, but feeling a need to gain hands-on time with the workings of computers in 1989, he joined PC distribution company Clear Technology and became the company’s technical guru. He became a Novell Certified Engineer and not only managed a national team of sales support engineers, but the computer assembly staff configuring local area networks and wide area networks on site at the ever-expanding Top 100 Company.

Glen left Clear Technology after five years and became a key part of Novell Australia’s growth in the early nineties. He travelled often to the United States and Asia, clocking up more than 35 trips to the USA in the eight years with the multinational giant.

Meanwhile, Glen’s wife Angela, who had also worked at Clear Technology but was now raising their twin daughters, rejoined the work force from a home office. She decided to change Epic’s direction from its traditional origins and head down the multimedia path.

Epic Multimedia soon became one of Australia's first Internet & Intranet video editing companies providing a comprehensive range of web, video and multimedia services. Returning to the helm in 2002, Glen brought with him expertise to expand Epic’s services in the areas of system administration and networking services.

April 2007 ushers in an exciting new era for Epic with the expansion of Glen and Angela’s other business interests resulting in their handing of the reins to the new owners, Graham Lewis and Lynne Blay Lewis.

Both Graham and Lynne have experience in the IT industry dating back nearly thirty years. Graham started his professional life as a Cobol programmer in his native UK, before progressing rapidly to a role in operating systems support and design with ICL, the UK computer manufacturer. After a number of international assignments, he relocated to Australia in 1989 and has worked in customer service roles for ICL, later Fujitsu, covering the whole range of IT equipment from mainframes through to PCs, supporting some of the largest companies and organisations in the country.

Lynne worked in a number of IT roles in Office Systems, System Support/Administration and Training until a more important role as a mother claimed her full time attention in the mid 1990s. Returning to the workforce in 2001, she re-trained in website design technologies, and has since operated her own business as a website developer.

Graham and Lynne’s combination of experience and technology backgrounds dovetail perfectly with the services Epic offer to their customers. With the retention of Glen’s expertise in a consultancy role, Epic Multimedia is well-placed to build on the current sound foundation of technology services. We look forward with enthusiasm to working with both existing and new customers to maintain and improve their existing installations, and to use emerging technologies to implement exciting new applications into the future.
